Wei-Ming Kung

Research Interests: Wei-Ming’s current research interest is in advanced wastewater treatment technologies aimed at lowering the risk of impaired water to human health, with an emphasis on electrocatalytic methods for organic contaminants. This way, he hopes to promote water reuse and preserve our water resources.

Background: Wei-Ming is a PhD student in Environmental Engineering at Rice University. He earned his B.S in Environmental Engineering from National Cheng Kung University and completed an M.S. in Environmental Engineering from National Taiwan University. For his Master’s study, he focused on photochemical advanced oxidation processes and the treatment of emerging contaminants. His thesis applied a solar-driven persulfate system to remove caffeine and cephradine in human urine. The article of this work is available here.
